God, please welcome her with open arms!

Monday, April 28th just around 2:00 am, Grandma Gladys passed away. We are so sad, but yet happy that she is now at peace. We have some wonderful memories of Grandma Gladys! She loved to feed Josie Rose garlic crackers and just laugh as she shoved two at a time in her mouth. And she loved Jonas' hugs and kisses! I have some great memories as a child staying with her and Grandpa Van. But most of all, I have a cherished moment with Grandma in the hospital that I will hold onto forever. Grandma.....you will be missed very much. We love you!

Spending time with Uncle Sticke and Aunt Lyn

Saturday night after Jonas' baseball game, the kids went to Uncle Sticke and Aunt Lyn's for the night. They took them to a Bats baseball game. They watched the game, ate food and ice cream, saw Buddy the Bat, and played on the playground. Then they went home and Josie chased Charlie the cat all over (Piper knew to hide), while Jonas played with Uncle Sticke's Transformers and then they wrestled for awhile. They went to church with Uncle Sticke and Aunt Lyn the next morning and Aunt Lyn said they were so good! Thanks Uncle Sticke and Aunt Lyn. The kids had so much fun.

Baseball and Family!

Well, this past Saturday Jonas had a baseball game and was surprised to see many family members show up to watch him play. He had Grandma Jane & Pawpaw Tom; Aunt Mere, Uncle Joe and Cousin Sam; Aunt Sissy; Aunt Claire and Uncle Dan; Uncle Luke; and Aunt Angie and Uncle Frankie. Wow, he sure was excited and definitely cheesed it up for everyone. We had a great day and topped it off with a visit to Polly's Freeze for some food and ice cream. Grandma Jane and Pawpaw Tom's treat! Thanks to everyone, we love you all and are very blessed to have such a close and wonderful family.

Dirt, bugs, worms......WE LOVE IT ALL!

Brothers and sisters sometimes love being with each other and sometimes they fight. Well, Jonas and Josie have found a shared love for being outside playing in the dirt and searching for bugs and worms. Yes, Josie LOVES it. Matter-of-fact, the third picture shows Jonas talking Josie into getting a worm off the log. Jonas says they're slimy, but Josie has no problem picking them up and putting them into Jonas' bug catcher. He will do it when she's not around. They have so much fun together going on their hunt all over the yard. It will be so good for them to be here at Powers Mountain this summer. Now, the only things that worry me are Josie seeing a snake and maybe trying to pick it up, and the fact that after she digs in the dirt and picks up bugs and worms, those two fingers go right into her mouth. Yuck!!!! But what am I going to do?

Please Pray!

On April 17th, Grandma Gladys was admitted to Floyd Memorial Hospital. She has some health issues and on top of that came down with pneumonia. We are very worried about her and are unsure of the outcome. She will be 89 this year. This would be Jonas and Josie's Great Grandma. We love her very much. Jonas and Josie call her Grandma G. We are praying that she comes home. But we know that God has a plan and whatever it may be, we must be at peace. We are just so happy that Grandma knows her Jonas and Josie Rose. Grandma loves the kids so much and enjoys seeing them. We hope Grandma gets to come home soon! Please keep Grandma Gladys in your prayers!! Please pray for Grandpa Van too during such an emotional time. J&J Land Cattle & Transporation which is mine and Sam's business was created by Grandpa Van, Grandma Gladys and Dandaw for the kids to inherit. Grandpa Van named the business and the J&J represents Jonas and Josie!

JONAS PLAYING BASEBALL

Jonas began his first season of baseball and what an experience. He is a very competitive little man. Wonder where he gets that from (gotta guess Uncle Sticke)? He is doing very well learning the game. He is a true baseball player shown by the chewing of gum, great swing, and awesome stance. Dandaw and Poppy watched with Josie Rose as Jonas gets a hit and makes it to first base. Daddy is an awesome assistant coach. At his first game, daddy pitched and Jonas said loudly, "Daddy you're throwing too fast!" It is so much fun to watch. Jonas is definitely a competitive little boy.

Sesame Street Live

They looked forward to seeing Elmo Live for days. Well, the day came and there was so much excitement leading up to the show. We met up with the Dotsons and off we went. Luke Bob and Jonas LOVED it. Josie was a bit scared of the extremely large Sesame Street characters. They are much bigger than on TV. However, we made it through the whole show and Josie would even peek from time-to-time to catch some of it. We then went to eat at Ditto's and the kids ended the evening with ice cream topped with chocolate.

"Come on Mommy, figure out what you're doing!"

I am still trying to figure out the world of blogging and creating my postings. As you can tell by the pictures, Josie and Jonas are getting impatient. They love to look at the pictures and watch me TRY to work on the blog. Hopefully with Mere's help I will soon be an expert and get everything out I want to share!
